Method

  1. Slice the guava paste into half-inch slabs.
  2. Cut the cheese into slices of the same size.
  3. Pair one of each — cheese under, guava on top. On a cracker if you like structure.
  4. Eat standing in the kitchen like everyone actually does. Repeat.
  5. For the warm version: tuck the pair into a hot arepa or melt briefly under a broiler until the cheese softens.
